Research Challenge

Discovering the potential role of Quora in the college admissions process:

“What is the range of information prospective students seek in the process of applying to undergraduate programs at four-year colleges/universities?”

*Why do students need this information?

*What resources are students using today to meet their information needs?

*In what ways do students find, record, and track information that they find?

 

Impact

  • Initiated a potential follow-up diary study for college application period to cover gaps identified in this study

  • Provided Quora employees a foundation and some context for prospective college students’ information needs by sharing findings at Quora’s company-wide monthly UX Research series

 
 

Conclusion

At the end of the project, we presented to our stakeholders, two UX Researchers at Quora. Afterwards, we presented at the company-wide Quora User Research Series highlighting our findings and its implications and relevance to Quora.
